VAT Exempt · Request a quote & hide prices for Shopify
Email support@arteptech.com — we reply within one business day, usually much sooner. Include your store's myshopify domain and, if it's about a specific order, the order number.
Every new order emails the customer an edit link automatically (you can change that email under Emails).
What can customers change? Whatever you enable: shipping address, quantities, removing items, adding products (from a list you choose or any active product), and cancelling the order. Each is a separate switch.
When does editing stop? When the window ends, when you fulfil the order (or your 3PL accepts it), when the order is cancelled or closed, when you close it manually, and for orders carrying a tag you've blocked.
Who pays when the customer adds something? The customer. Shopify creates a payment request and VAT Exempt sends them straight to Shopify's secure payment page; you get an email and the order shows “Payment due” until it's paid. Adding is only offered on paid orders.
What about refunds when they remove items? Shopify records the amount owed; you complete the refund from the order in Shopify (one click). VAT Exempt emails you which order and how much.
Does it work with my 3PL / warehouse app? Yes — edits go through Shopify's own order editing, so any app that reads orders sees the updated order. If your warehouse has already accepted the fulfilment request, editing is blocked automatically.
Multiple currencies? Shopify allows online edits only for orders in your store currency; other orders show “can't be edited online” and the customer is asked to contact you.
Subscriptions? Orders containing subscription items can't be edited online (Shopify restriction).
Can I reopen editing for one order? Yes — open the order in VAT Exempt and click “Reopen for 24 hours”, then send the customer the link shown there.
Uninstalling stops all edit links immediately; Shopify then asks us to delete your data, which we do within 30 days.
